There are a number of benefits to living in Bristol – the cider flows freely, pasties are plentiful and the accent is ‘Gert Lush’ (for a sample go listen to the vlog!) – and once a year we are host to Europe’s largest Urban Paint Festival … UPFest
Originally inspired by the festivals happening in both Southampton and London, the first Upfest took place back in 2008. Since then the event has seen massive growth with the 2017 event expecting 300+ artists from all over the world.

Couchsurfers and Travelling
Many people who are planing to travel to far flung (i.e. expensive!) places soon discover that accommodation is often the most pricey of the components of their trip. There are plenty of ways to reduce this cost, sometimes to zero and one of those is by sleeping on the sofa, or floor, of a stranger on the internet… I am not selling it am I?
Okay, I fully appreciate the whole thing sounds a bit dodgy when put like that, but hear me out. There is a lot to be said for a bit of local know-how when visiting any city, and many couchsurfing hosts are generally very knowledgeable about their local areas and are more than willing to share all manner of tips about the best things to see, and places to visit.
So if sharing in a strangers house is not for you, how about joining your local couchsurfing community and helping visitors out with your own local knowledge?
