5 of the Best: Tunes to get you moving

5 ‘Get up and Go’ Tunes

I am writing this through immense pain! It reminds me of when I was off work ill in September; a time where I was able to get loads of writing done, and my blog set back up as I typed through tears and sniffs. The good thing about tooth ache is the the rest of your body works, so I can write on through!
What I need is a bunch of cheerful tunes; songs that motivate and make you want to get on with doing what you have to have to do…or possibly stop and have a dance.

Sometimes the weather is pants, and you just aren’t in the mood to go to the gym; you aren’t feeling that going out once you get home into the warm is worth the effort, even if future you will be grateful you did. ‘Now you’ is tired and cold and just wants to snuggle up on the settee and watch telly. What tunes are guaranteed to get me up, even when the winter blues have got me down?

I got you (I feel good) – James Brown

This is a classic tune, that always makes me want to get up and dance – even if I am sat down I can’t help moving to it. How can you not feel good after listening to this?

She’s so lovely – Scouting for Girls

We saw these guys in concert when we went to the Guides Big gig about seven years ago and this song always make me feel good – I just imagine someone is singing to me about how great I am – and that’s guaranteed to cheer you up!

Body – Taeyang

In a similar vein, this is a feel good song for me as I dream of someone singing the words ‘Never seen a girl like you’ to me one day – I can dream Harold!

The Slide Man – Cha Cha Slide

Hannah was in charge of party tunes for New Years Eve, and I seriously believe she should have her own disco; all of the songs were bangers and Harriet ended up going to bed at 11.30 and missing the whole New Year thing because she was worn out from all of her dancing about. The good thing about this one is even the boys will join in when this song comes on.

I Gotta Feeling – The Black Eyed Peas

I let Hannah pick the last song – I need to go to bed I am so ill! But she has done a good job, this is a party starter that we always have on when we are having our pre-drinks before a night out.

And as a bonus, here is a whole hour of cheerful ‘wake-up’ music.

What tunes are guaranteed to get you on a dance floor, or at least motivate you enough to get up and at ’em?
Any recommendations or suggestions for a future Tuesdays Tunes?
