Trying something new
When I got my Spotify round up at the end of last year, one of the things it offered me were a selection of taste breakers; a collection of tunes that you wouldn’t normally listen to, but that the algorithm thinks you might like. Now, I literally play my Hyukoh list to death, but there are some hidden gems that I could share from some of my other lists, so come check them out.
Why do you play me like this Spotify?
I am now allowed to listen to my music at work, but my playlist, obviously doesn’t last for the whole 8 hours. You know exactly when your playlist has run out though, because you will suddenly notice that the song you are listening to is not ‘one of yours’ ; the app has tried to sneak in something new, as if to say ‘give it a break Poll! Try other musicians!’ So I have been exploring my previous playlists and have decided to share a few of them with you over the coming months.
So for February I have found the band I spend much of my student years listening to…
When I was in the Sixth Form, back in the early nineties, I was into a number of different musical styles. One of my friends, Tim, got me into both The Levellers and The Waterboys – they were quite a change to my normal listening, but I loved the folky, almost Irish quality about it – I really never got into The Smiths though, sorry Tim!
How long will I love you
Room to Roam
The Raggle Taggle Gypsy
What were you listening to back in the day?
Are you still into the same music, or have you changed up your musical taste?
Tell me all about it in the comments down below.
