As mentioned in my last post, I have ticked ‘Drive a car’ off of the 40×40, which is now an upgraded item on the Kettlelist (I have lots of lists, if you find yourself getting confused, and I know I do, just go here) Basically I have set myself the challenge of passing my driving test.
In the Vlog I chat about how I feel it went, and time scales for getting #3 on the list finished
Writing my book
Last week, I missed my pondering. That is not to say I didn’t write one; I wrote extensively, so much so in fact that I went over my hour and still hadn’t finished, so decided to extend it and will put it out this Thursday instead. Somewhat ironically, I was so busy writing I didn’t have time to write a blog post…
There are a number of fitness goals on the list – interestingly enough very few have been selected for my ‘focus list’, apart from ‘lose weight’ – which is a task from my 40 x 40 that I have been working on in a rather lack lustre manner!
So here are the fitness and health based goals that appear on the various lists…
For the first Vlog of year I wanted to look forward to travel plans – all connected to the Kettlelist, of course – as it seemed like a ‘New Year’ kind of thing to do. I love the fact that I can now say ‘this year I am going…’ instead of ‘Next year, I want to go to…’ so here are the plans…
# 22 – Visit five European Capitals
After managing to survive the freezing cold of Berlin last March, I was hoping to tick off another European Capital this year so that I would be one step closer to completing this task. I have been looking at a number of places that have short (and cheap!) flights. After a number of my friends visited Portugal last year and returned with good reports, Lisbon looks to be the likely contender. The trip is hopefully happening in June – can’t book anything yet as I am waiting for my friend to save up for the flights, but we should be able to sort something in March. So look forward to lots of photos from a girlie break!
40 x 40: # 11-Visit all of the English Counties
Another ‘travel’ related item that appears on the 40 x 40 is to visit every ceremonial English county. 2018 was a great year for visits as I managed to tick off five counties, mainly because we now have a car that actually works! The plan this year is to tick off Devon and Cornwall, which are well within extended day trip distance (we have done Newquay for a day trip in the past, but it would probably make a better overnight stay)
Ticking off a few northern counties would also be good, so we will look at a few air BNB’s and see what is available to us.
#21 Visit California, See the Hollywood Sign, Stand on a Star on Hollywood Boulevard
For her 18th birthday Hannah has chosen to visit L.A; she wants to stand on a Hollywood star, see the sign, eat a Voodoo donut and visit the Museum of Death (because, of course she does!) I have booked the dates off work, so now we just need to save and plan. Having looked at a few options it isn’t going to be as expensive as I thought it would be, so we are hopefully going to be able to look at booking up in June. Looks like I am going to be doing a lot of saving this year!
Over to you
What are your plans for this year? Where would you like to go? Do you have any local attractions that you would recommend to visitors? Let me know in the comments below.
Have you noticed the change around here? I have discovered colours taken from my favourite photo and based the blog around it – Canva is literally the best thing my friend Rin has ever introduced me to (I am still waiting for her to introduce me to a rich and eligible K-pop star who has a thing for older women, but I am willing to wait for that one). Think of it as a ‘New year, New me’ thing. One other blog based task I have intended doing was a Saturday post purely about the Kettle List – as distinct from my 40 x 40 or all the other Bucket List’s I seem to continuously compile!
Today I want to look at the cumulative things on the list – and how having them can encourage you get more of your list completed.
